From the distance: Happy Easter!!!

01F6E573-1BA9-4275-B0D8-67C300F8B127.jpegWhen I celebrate Easter year by year,  I reassure my faith, I reaffirm that the Lord is resurrected and I have new hope for the future.  In contrast, we see a messy world: many people are turning away from God, suicide, addiction, abortion and the lack of respect for human life and the environment is very prevalent.  In the light of the Resurrection, what is our take in responding to all these problems?

We, Catholics, are people of faith. We walk by faith, not by sight (2 Cor: 5,7). Every single Sunday we celebrate the Resurrection of the Lord in the most sublime sacrifice of the Mass. Only one sacrifice, only one resurrection. During the Holy Mass we say after the mystery of faith: “we proclaim your death and profess your Resurrection until you come again”. From the Bible: “Great indeed, we confess, is the mystery of our religion.” (1 Tim 3:16).  “For as often as you eat this bread and drink the chalice, you proclaim the death of the Lord until he comes.” (1 Cor 11:26)

Now that I am out of the parish and out of the country, Is because I am renewing my passport.  Since January Venezuela closed all consulates in US soil. https://www.reuters.com/article/us-venezuela-politics-maduro/venezuela-to-close-u-s-embassy-consulates-maduro-idUSKCN1PI2V6

I  reassure you that all of you are in my thoughts and my prayers because we are in the same path of  the resurrected Jesus Christ.

No matter the place I go, no matter where am I in the world, I am praying for you, especially my parishioners. I will be out of the parish for a while but you are in my heart.  Let us keep each other united in prayer.
